Can Japanese Pitta masks protect against coronavirus?

Any mask is better than no mask. Even though other types of masks are more effective at filtering out the tiny virus particles, Pitta masks are still a good general choice if other types of masks are unavailable to you.

By you wearing a Pitta mask you're less likely to be projecting large droplets of the virus particles towards others, if you were to be an asymptomatic COVID-19 carrier.

If we were to all wear masks consistently whenever around people, there would be less virus particles floating around in the air to begin with.
