The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, urged Kazakhstanis to be ready for a second outbreak of coronavirus in the country. According to the Head of State, it is necessary to strengthen and institutionalize the sanitary-epidemiological service. “We need to turn to the proven model. In this regard, work has already begun to create a new committee, and the status and powers of the chief state sanitary inspector will be increased. Life itself prompts this reform, ”K. Tokayev noted. “Measures will be taken to provide social protection for specialists and the personnel training system for this service has been revised. In addition, further strengthening of cooperation with foreign countries in the fight against infectious diseases is necessary. The biosafety system should work according to common standards and ensure effective cross-country interaction and response to threats, ”the President added.
